How the West was Won

Classic Western movies always feature some dark and rustic bar where the sheriff and bandits are constantly dueling.

We thought we’d take a page from our favorite oldies, and take a look at some rustic kitchen designs. Whether you go for the full watering hole look, or just take a dip, there’s always a place for some good ol’ fashioned cowboy living!

If you’re lucky enough to have exposed beams in your home, they can make a fantastic addition to any rustic style kitchen.

This kitchen gets into the western spirit adding more wood throughout, while the featured stone wall creates excellent contrast to the warmth and richness of the wood.

If you don’t have many rustic elements built right into your home, here’s a great way to add to the western look. This weathered antique cabinet is the perfect addition for a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, backsplash, and shelving, lending some warmth to the overall look and feel.

Here’s another great way to incorporate the western look into your kitchen. We love the way this old wooden table acts as a kitchen island as well as a place for storage, using matching crates to hide unwanted clutter. This table draws from the rustic elements of the old west while being both beautiful and functional.
